| If you wholeheartedly want to be a professional gem dealer, |
| DON’T let this opportunity pass you by. |
 |
|
 |
If you have the following questions in mind when purchasing a piece of gem or jewelry: |
| |
 |
Q1. What kind of gem is this? |
| |
| Q2. The salesperson told me it is ruby, but how can I be sure? |
| |
| Q3. Do all rubies have the same quality and value? |
| |
| Q4. How much should I pay for that piece of jewelry? |
| |
| Q5. Does the salesperson really have any knowledge of the product he / she is selling me? |
|
| |
These questions will not be problems anymore after you get trained with us. You can easily have answers to those questions as follow: |
| |
A1. It is ruby. I can tell by examining the inclusions, not just seeing the red color. There are other gems that are red like ruby as well. |
| |
A2. Well. Now I am sure it is ruby. Let check the salesperson out if he / she can tell me the origin of that ruby. |
| |
A3. I know that rubies have many different red types, qualities, origins, and of course, values. A 2.00 carat intense red Burmese ruby is 1,000 times more expensive than a lead glass African ruby of the same size and 10,000 times more expensive than a synthetic ruby. |
| |
A4. Since I know the material, I can roughly estimate the price I should pay for that piece of gem / jewelry. |
| |
A5. Don't fool me. You (the salesperson) don’t know anything about gems. You just try to sell the product. I can purchase that piece of jewelry of the same quality at least 10 times less than the price you offer elsewhere. |

Who are we ? |
 |
Bangkok Gems Training Center was founded by a group of gemologists and gem dealers who realize the fact that studying gemology in well-known institutes cost a lot of money and time, and details in some lessons are too academic and not practically used in the gem trading world. Seeing this fact, we, therefore, designed concise courses which cover fundamental knowledge in gemology that is truly necessary for building a successful career in the gem business as gem dealers, not gemologists working in the gem labs. Of course, students who finish our program can also identify gemstones using lab equipments as lab people do. However, for gem dealers trading gems in the real markets, doing so is not practical. In fact, the main instruments they use to identify gemstones are the simplest ones which are a 10x loupe and penlight. So, the major aim of our training center is to provide professional training for those planning to become gem dealers with less time available, also without having to spend a lot of money. At Bangkok Gems Training Center, students not only study theory and practice lab work, but are given opportunities to observe the trading in Chanthaburi gem market where is considered to be one of the biggest gem markets in the world. If you have an interest in gemstones, whether as a profession or simply as a hobby, contact us today. We will be very pleased to give you complete details on how you can become involved in the exciting world of gemstones. |
